We’re packing up the 1’s and 0’s here, and moving all “Wait, Wait…Don’t Tell Me” blog things over to tumblr. Right now it’s the Internet’s #1 source for photographs of Peter Sagal on his motorcycle, but we hope it’ll be much, much more (Peter Sagal on his unicycle, hovercraft, pool noodle, etc.). Check it out at wwdtm.tumblr.com.

PETER SAGAL!

In case you ever doubted that I’m a huge dork, my level of excitement about this should clear that up pretty fast. NPR WINS AGAIN!

People don’t want to elect someone who doesn’t want the job.

Newsweek’s Jonathan Alter talking about Obama on today’s To the Point. (via tothepoint)

I saw Obama speak again yesterday, and he definitely has an attitude problem. It’s not that he doesn’t seem like he wants the job, it’s that he seems weary. To the extent that he can muster some energy to share with his supporters, it seems to come less from an eagerness to win and more from an impatience to stop playing campaign games with an unworthy opponent and get back to the business of actually running the country. I don’t blame him, but unfortunately it’s not a particularly inspiring MO.

KPCC and WNYC debate over which city has the best summer: Los Angeles or New York City. Check out the smackdown between Brian Lehrer and his LA counterpart Patt Morrison. Go Brian! Go NYC!

I happened to hear this debate live and found myself torn, as usual, between my spiritual/birth home and my adopted one.

But let’s be honest people: while the idea of NYC in the summer is spectacular, the reality of heat/humidity make it generally miserable.

In honor of the 40th Anniversary of Marvin Gaye’s historic concert at the Kennedy Center; & inspired by NPR’s story yesterday about the Center’s re-imagining of the concert and involvement of young artists to remix the title track.

Been a big 24 hours in music. Among other notable milestones, celebrating the superhumanly long career of Pete Seeger (Happy 93rd Bday!) - and the tragic premature loss of MCA (No sleep till Brooklyn!).

Fresh Air’s Terry Gross with Gene Simmons. Starring Cat. Happy Weekend :P (via @wbez)

This is one of the most fantastic (and most awkward) radio moments I’ve ever had the pleasure to experience. (Plus cats in wigs!) Easily rivals Ira Glass interviewing Mike Daisey - not that it’s a competition. (In fact, this vid was made to raise money for Ira’s home radio station, so everyone wins.)

A celebrity sighting that literally set my heart a-flutter - today, I recognized Matt Miller by his VOICE. He’s the host and rep of the “extreme center” on KCRW’s Left, Right, and Center, the “civilized yet provocative antidote to the screaming talking heads that dominate political debate,” and hands-down my favorite source of political commentary. Should’ve asked him to pose for a photo with me, but this appearance on the Colbert Report from earlier this year should suffice.
